Splitdorf Generator Parts
All parts are new manufacture and are exact replacements for the original parts (except for the electronic cutout). Due to limited application these parts are made in small batches. I do not list all parts for every generator. If you need something not listed, e-mail your needs. Some parts are made one at a time.

DU-7 Electronic Cutout. This is an easy replacement for the original cutout that is almost always missing or inoperable. Complete with instructions and mounting hardware. Requires no modification to the generator, uses original cutout mounting holes.

DU-1, DU-5 Electronic Cutout - Similar to the DU-7 cutout but designed for the cast iron commutator head of a DU-1 or DU-5. Complete with instructions and mounting hardware. Requires no modification to the generator, uses original cutout mounting holes.

DU-7 Brush holder insulating discs. These go on both sides of the copper plated steel plate. These are often worn or damaged around the adjustable brush holder slot. If the slot is enlarged due to wear the brush holder will short out killing your generator. Each generator uses two different plates. Laser cut from modern phenolic.

DU-1, DU-5 Brush Holder Disc. This is the phenolic disc that the brush holders attach to. Often warped or torn. One required per generator.

DU-7 Brush Springs. These are often rusted, bent or broken. Correct spring pressure is necessary for the brushes to make proper contact. Each generator uses 3 springs, two of one type and one of another.

Originals are often battered and missing the special oversize brass nuts.
This is a complete 9 piece assembly including; post, brass washer, 2 paper
insulators, post insulator, flat insulator, special copper washer and 2
special oversize brass nuts.

DU-1, DU-5, DU-7 Field Coils - Why take a chance on those 70 + year old coils shorting out. These are professionally made, perfect replacements.

2" O.D. Pulley - This is the smaller of the 2 most commonly used Splitdorf pulleys. It is a good choice when mostly low speed riding will be done. The smaller size pulley spins the generator faster for more current output at lower speed. Nickel plated.

2-3/8" O.D. Pulley - Not Pictured. This is the larger of the 2 most commonly used Splitdorf pulleys. It is standard on all DU-7s (except the Indian Chief) and is also used on the 101 Scou drive unit.

14 tooth Pinion Gear, DU-5H and DU7H - This is the drive gear used on all Indian Chief generators. This gear is even harder to find than the generator itself. Manufactured by a nationally respected gear maker from 4140 heat treated tool steel.
